“I hope I die before this comes out.”
- Choire
It seems Adam Sandler is experiencing a phenomenon known as Too Big For Your Buddies. The last time we’ve seen this problem was with Lebron’s decision to go to Miami. I can only imagine that Lebron’s entourage, whoever they are, kept saying things like, “Yeah man, definitely let people think you’re leaning towards New York!” “Yeah man, a one-hour decision special on ESPN? You’re the king!” “Yeah man, a welcome to Miami live event with you, D-Wade, and Bosh coming up out of the floor? Yes!” Someone, at some point, should have told Lebron that these were all terrible ideas. But he was too big, and his friends were too on board.
Similarly, we get Jack and Jill… and You Don’t Mess With the Zohan, and Little Nicky. I feel like somewhere on the line, one of Sandler’s buddies should have been like, “Hey man… that’s enough.”
